The HD800 is the first model in the Xacti series to feature our 3D digital noise reduction technology to dramatically improve image quality. A high-speed CMOS image sensor gathers 1.7 times more image information than the previous model, for even sharper images. The HD800 boasts low power consumption and high-speed image-processing capability. Meanwhile, upgrades to the image-compression algorithm and the signal-processing optimizer result in improved resolution, coloration, and image quality in dark sections of your videos. The Xacti HD800 adopts the MPEG-4 AVC H.264 video-recording format, which records video and audio data into the same file. Files in this format are highly compressed, which means you can record for longer while maintaining image quality. As both video and audio information are contained in the same files, they are easier to upload to the web. Despite its small, pocket- or purse-fitting body, the HD800 can take high-definition videos and 8.0-megapixel still images. You can even record videos and stills simultaneously, without the hassle of having to switch modes.
